Andrew (Sock) and Chris (Buskin) started their DJ careers separately at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.  Andrew held residencies at the Red Lion and Kams, and also opened for several artists at Canopy Club (including Borgore and Bear Grillz).  Chris held residencies at Brothers Bar and the Red Lion, DJ'd at corporate and university functions, and started a DJ student organization to teach others.  They started performing Back to Back (B2B) shifts together in 2019. 

 The two became Sock and Buskin and created a walking DJ setup to wander Chicago mid-pandemic while clubs and bars were closed.  They grew a following for their setup and began live-streaming on Tik Tok.  They were featured on Hits101, a Los Angeles based radio station with a mashup mix.  They opened for the artist Cheat Codes at a sold-out 750 person venue.

In 2023, the duo added a second Soundboks battery powered speaker and began to do wireless back to back walking sets.  This caught the attention of EDC and they were hired to perform both mobile and stage performances at EDSea in November, and later EDC Las Vegas in May.  

Carney Media Group was founded in 2017 by Josh Carney — a lifelong musician, songwriter, music producer, recording and mixing engineer, and educator. CMG provides audio, music, and media production services for just about any type and scope of project —  recording, editing, vocal tuning, mixing, mastering, remastering, restoration, and audio postproduction for film and video. Josh also founded the MusicTechHelpGuy YouTube channel in 2011, a free online resource for music production tutorials.
